Hello, I'm Jacob 👋

I'm a Data & AI Technology Lead based in The Netherlands, working atSchuberg Philis.

I lead data and AI initiatives, bringing together cloud architecture, machine learning, and data engineering to deliver mission critical solutions. Since March 2021, I've been part of theAWS Community Builders program. My current focus areas include:

Books

I write, too — long-form and in the open:

  • The Undertext (formerly Fable's Echo) — my debut techno-thriller, set in the Netherlands and grounded in technology that already exists. Free to read.
  • Sovereign by Design — building a production query engine on DataFusion, written as it was built.
  • The Art of Agents — Sun Tzu's thirteen chapters applied to building agentic AI systems.

Projects
